Computer Science - dual - KoSi (B.Sc.)

Students sit in a lecture hall and concentrate on their work on laptops. An orange graphic with the inscription "Informatik dual - KoSi (B.Sc.)" is superimposed on the lower part of the image.

Course outline

Computer science has become an integral part of our everyday lives. It plays a major role in all key technologies and is therefore a study programme with excellent career prospects. Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences offers two dual degree programmes in computer science. During the course outline, students are employed by an IT company.

The Cooperative Study Programme in Computer Science (KoSI) combines general and business informatics topics. Individual specialisations are possible via compulsory elective modules. In addition to KoSI, there is also the dual study programme IT Security (KITS).

Entry Requirements

KoSI is not subject to admission restrictions (no NC). The prerequisite for enrolment is a student contract with a partner company of the university. Admission requirements include the following school-leaving qualifications

  • general higher education entrance qualification
  • subject-specific higher education entrance qualification valid in Hesse
  • entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences valid in Hesse

KoSI can be started in the winter and summer semesters. Applications should be sent directly to the partner company. If you are successful, a student contract will be concluded between you and the company. You will then be enrolled at the university. You can find the application form and further information at www.h-da.de/bewerbung. A selection of interested companies is listed at www.partner.infdl.de. A detailed description of the admission requirements can be found in the Special Provisions of the Examination Regulations (BBPO).

Study programme

A dual study programme supplements courses at the university with practical stages in the company and thus offers valuable insights into the professional world in addition to the academic university education. Compared to graduates of regular study programmes, dual study programme students acquire a higher level of practical skills and key qualifications. Dual Study Programmes also have excellent academic success and employment rates. The company remuneration during the study period enables financial independence and concentration on the course outline.

  • A detailed description of the programme content can be found in the module handbook.
  • You can find an overview of the individual modules in the course of study in the module diagram.
