IT companies often have to map their own or third-party business processes with a high IT component, implement large individual software projects or pursue complex optimisation goals for resource requirements or quality assurance. The dual Master's degree programme in computer science teaches students the ability to apply scientific methods and findings to the processing of difficult and complex IT problems. Course outlines can be chosen from the following areas:
At Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences, the Master's in Computer Science can be pursued as a regular or dual study programme. The special feature of the dual study programme is the close integration with practice. Students are already employed by a partner company during their course outline.

Admission requirement for the Master's study programme is a qualified Bachelor's degree in the field of computer science. You can find more information at: www.h-da.de/informatik-msc. In addition, a student contract with a partner company is required. You can find a selection of partner companies at www.h-da.de/dual/informatik.
The dual Master's study programme in computer science can be started in the summer or winter semester. Applications should be sent directly to the desired partner company. After a successful application process, a student contract is concluded between the future student and the company. Enrolment at the university is then applied for. You can find the online application and further information at www.h-da.de/bewerbung and on the website of the Dual Study Centre Darmstadt at www.h-da.de/dual.
The dual Master's degree programme in computer science is characterised above all by a flexible alternation between the study courses at the university and the practical stages and work activities in the partner company. In addition to the high level of practical relevance, the company remuneration enables financial independence and concentration on the essentials. The study programme offers a purely compulsory elective course from a catalogue of theory and practical courses - freely selectable according to interests. Accompanying courses from the social and cultural studies programme and work in the company promote the acquisition of practical skills and key qualifications (soft skills). In contrast to the Bachelor dual programme, the work activity during the theoretical phases can be individually negotiated between the student and the company. This means that anything from full-time study to a half-time position during a theory phase is possible. The respective duration of study is adapted to these agreements.

A Master's degree opens up good opportunities on the labour market, a higher starting salary and entry requirements for management positions. Master's graduates mainly work in positions with interface functions and complex tasks in the following areas:
After a Master's degree programme, there is the possibility of a doctorate. The Graduate School is the central place of contact.
The first place of contact for most questions about studying is our student advisors, the Student Service Centre (SSC) or direct contacts from the faculty.
The application-oriented Master's programme teaches the current state of the art and the ability to apply it to problems and develop innovative solutions.
The Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) computer science study programme enables students to contribute to the quality-oriented solution of information technology problems in almost all areas of application in a creative and independent manner.
In the Bachelor's degree programme in Computer Science with a focus on Communication and Media in Computer Science (KMI), students first learn the technical and methodological basics of computer science, including the common programming languages.
In the cooperative study programme IT Security (KITS), students learn to develop security measures for IT applications - not only for company networks, data centres and the classic PC, but also for smartphones, tablets and the Internet.
The Cooperative Study Programme in Computer Science (KoSI) combines topics from general and business informatics. Individual specialisations are possible via compulsory elective modules.
