Online self-assessment

What is it about?

The online self-assessment for prospective students (high school students, university and career changers) is an approx. 45-minute web-based introduction to the career profile of computer science taught at our university, provides an insight into the Bachelor's degree programmes in computer science and sets three challenges (tasks).

The course offers you the opportunity to find out for yourself whether your personal expectations, skills and interests match the requirements and actual content of the study programme you are aiming for.

You will receive detailed feedback at the end of the course. The course is designed to help you make a decision when choosing a degree programme and university. You can take part anonymously.

If you decide to study a Bachelor's degree in "Computer Science" or "Computer Science KMI", participation is compulsory. On the last page of the course, only after completing the course, you will have the opportunity to receive a certificate of attendance by entering your name etc.!

The courses

To save you time, there are courses for different target groups, as school pupils, for example, have different questions to those changing study programmes or careers.

Please select the course that suits you best:

Further information

The online self-assessment is aimed at prospective students who are about to decide on a specific degree programme. It is more informative and contains only a few tasks. The level of the tasks is adapted to users who have already acquired or will soon acquire a university entrance qualification, i.e. generally high school graduates. Of course, you can also take part in the course if you are only in the 10th or 11th grade, but some tasks and questions may (still) be difficult for you to answer. Don't let this put you off and simply try again at a later date!

Participation is initially anonymised and pseudonymised. Your results are not traceable for us, so you have absolutely no disadvantages. At the end of the self-assessment, you will receive feedback on your suitability. However, this is only meaningful if you complete the respective tasks and questions honestly and seriously.

Please bear in mind that the online self-assessment is time-limited and can only introduce you to parts of the degree programme. If you would like more in-depth advice or have questions about your results feedback, we recommend a personal meeting with the academic advisors or the Central Student Advisory Service at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences. This will give you a sound basis for your study decision.
