Stefan Rapp is Professor of Computer Engineering, Embedded Graphics and Fundamentals of Computer Science at the Department of Computer Science at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences. He is spokesperson for the Computer Engineering Section and a member of the Computer Science Department Council.
His research interests are wide-ranging: computer graphics, especially in embedded systems, rapid prototyping technologies, voice assistance systems, multimodal dialogue, intelligent environments, machine learning, UI technologies and autonomous systems such as self-driving cars.
Prof. Rapp has been at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences since 2014. Prior to that, he worked at Contintental Automotive GmbH as a software architect for embedded Linux on computer-animated instrument clusters and spent eight years at Sony researching voice dialogue systems and innovative interaction devices, most recently as Principal Scientist. Since 2004, he has also been running a company that deals with UI technologies and LumEnActive media technology, a controllable projection in space. He completed his education at the University of Stuttgart with a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the Institute for Machine Language Processing, after also studying computer science (with distinction) in Stuttgart. His research findings have been published in more than 50 publications and more than 35 patent applications in more than 15 patent families.

Social Media Policy
