The informatiCup, a GI competition for students!

Dear students,

The new task for the 18th student competition has been online for a few days now:
Digitisation and optimisation of analogue processes are a core topic in Computer Science and a challenge for science and business.

In the 2023 Profit! task, you will optimise a process as part of a turn-based simulation; from mining and transporting the required resources to manufacturing the desired products. To do this, you place mines, conveyor belts, connectors and factories on a two-dimensional field that already contains deposits and obstacles.

The competition is aimed at students of Computer Science and Computer Science-related faculties in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The informatiCup is a team competition to promote joint and interdisciplinary work. The focus is not only on programming, but the tasks must also be scientifically underpinned, so that a holistic solution approach must be developed.

Registrations for the competition can be made on the Teammates portal teams.informaticup.de. If you don't have a team yet, you can find one here.

The best teams will be invited to the final round in spring 2023. Attractive cash prizes totalling at least EUR 7,000 will be awarded by the competition sponsors. You can find out all about the 2023 competition and past competitions at informaticup.github.io
