There are a number of best practices for writing scientific papers, i.e. good and proven procedures. These are generally taught in the modules Scientific Writing in Computer Science 1 and Scientific Writing in Computer Science 2. In addition, it is advisable to discuss good practices and preferences of reviewers with both the first and second reviewer.

It is also advisable to take a look at the recommendations for writing scientific final theses at the Faculty of Computer Science at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences. These recommendations provide detailed information on various best practices, e.g. on the structure and layout of the thesis, outline, language, integration of graphics and source code and correct citation.

A LaTeX template for creating the paper can be found at

Both templates are identical. Further information on LaTeX can be found here.
